Chairman Abdullah emphasizes need for an urgent truce

KABUL: Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR) met and conferred on Afghan peace negotiations with Sayed Hamid Gilani, leader of the National Islamic Front of Afghanistan, on Saturday.
A statement released by the HCNR Office underlined that both sides discussed the second round of peace talks in Doha, the national and regional consensus, and the need for an urgent truce in the country.
Meanwhile, Abdullah met with the Chargé d’Affaires Ross Wilson and stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire in the region.
“During the meeting, the HCNR Chairman called for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the war and bloodshed,” HCNR Spokesman Faraidoon Khwazoon wrote on his Twitter handle.
He said Afghans shared the same desire of an immediate ceasefire and an end to the bloodshed.
