KABUL: Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian, the special representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry for Afghanistan Affairs, has stressed the need for reduced violence and collective efforts across diplomatic channels to establish permanent peace in Afghanistan.
Speaking in his separate talks with Russia and Germany’s envoys for Afghanistan Affairs on Monday, Taherian exchanged views with his counterparts on Afghanistan’s situation and the latest peace developments.
He described intra-Afghan peace dialogue as the best way to end the Afghan crisis and ease the Afghan people’s misery.
Meanwhile, Taherian stated that Iran was prepared to provide any assistance for establishing a permanent settlement in Afghanistan.
This is while the Taliban deputy head Mullah Baradar arrived in Iran at the head of a delegation to confer on the Afghan peace process with the host country.
