We need Islamic countries' assistance for peace: Taliban

KABUL: The Taliban insurgent group met and discussed the intra-Afghan negotiations’ ongoing situation and full implementation of the Doha agreement with the former vice president of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla and his team on Saturday evening.


“This evening, the political deputy and head of the political office Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the head of the negotiating team Shaykh Mowlavi Abdul Hakeem Haqqani and accompanying delegation met with the former vice president of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla and his team” Dr. Mohammad Naeem, the spokesman of the Taliban political office said.


In the meeting, the former vice president showed his optimistic views regarding intra-Afghan negotiations’ success and expressed their preparedness for every kind of support in this regard.


Meanwhile, the Taliban political deputy and head, Mullah Baradar, and Taliban representatives thanked Jusuf Kalla. They underlined that the insurgent group needed aid and support to ensure peace in the country, predominantly of Muslim countries, like Indonesia.
