Find solution to Afghan mire: Balkh activists to negotiators

KABUL: Civil society activists and members of a workgroup assigned to protect civilians in combat areas in Mazar-e-Sharif city, capital of northern Balkh province, on Monday urged warring parties to find a solution to the conflict in the country.
The activists who gathered for supporting war victims said that the conflict had caused considerable casualties to civilians and it should be stopped immediately.
They asked the government and the Taliban negotiating teams in Doha to end ongoing bloodshed in Afghanistan.
Sayed Mohammad Yazdanparast, a member of the task force for protecting civilians, say that the Afghan people were worried about increased violence and targeted attacks.
Zarifa Qazizada, a civil society activist, also said that Qatar’s intra-Afghan negotiators should work honestly to end the four-decade-long war in Afghanistan.
