Khost rally condemns PTM member's detention

GHAZNI: A large demonstration of elders and youths in the capital of southeastern Khost province condemned the detention of a leading member of the Pashtoon Tahfuz Movement (PTM) as they announced support to the movement’s peaceful approach for injustice Pashtoons face in Pakistan.
The rally’s participants said that the PTM’s posture was peaceful and their struggle was only for a peaceful living for Pashtoons living on both sides of the Durand Line.
In an online speech, PTM leader Manzoor Pashteen told the demonstrators that their movement was against oppression and barbarism. Pashteen called the detention of a leading PTM member, Ali Wazir, by Pakistani forces was an example of injustice.
Farid Qurban, a participant of the rally, told Orband News, “We rallied today to support the PTM, we condemned the detention of Ali Wazir and other leaders of the movement.”
He said that the rally also raised their voice against Saturday’s explosion in Ghazni province that left over a dozen children killed and 20 others wounded.
Another participant of the rally, Qader Shah, said that the demonstration emphasized an end to Afghanistan’s crisis and the release of Ali Wazir from Pakistani forces.
This comes as Pakistani police arrested Ali Wazir for unknown reasons last Wednesday.
