Balkh: Afghanistan Women’s Empowerment Program has launched a street art campaign in the capital of northeastern Kunduz province to promote the message of peace.

One of the murals on a wall in Kunduz city titled ‘Peace and Elimination of Violence’ shows that some men from warring sides have stopped the violence and chosen the life of peace.

The graffiti also shows Taliban and security forces hugging each other in a peaceful and secure environment.

Supporters of the program say that the campaign aimed to institutionalize the culture of peace and harmony in Afghan society.

The campaign was launched in Kunduz city as Taliban and Afghan forces engage in clashes in many other parts of the province.

Programs supporting peace have increased in many provinces of the country after the US-Taliban agreement and the launch of intra-Afghan talks in Qatar.
