BALKH: Inhabitants of northern Takhar province on Monday emphasized that only mutual acceptance and unity among Afghans could bring peace and stability to the country.

A gathering titled Sustainable Peace Establishment and Comprehensive Support for Security Forces was organized by the New Generation Foundation in Taloqan city, the capital of the province.

While announcing their support to the peace talks, the participants stressed that Afghan masses should not remain silent regarding the peace process but rather lend staunch backing to it.

The people of Takhar province believe that in order to pave the way for peace and stability, coexistence and unity must be established.

Meanwhile, Maulvi Abdullah Qarluq, the governor of Takhar province, said that peace was one of the Afghan people’s long-standing aspirations; therefore, serious efforts should be made in realizing it.
