BALKH: Residents from northern Balkh province at a peace gathering on Saturday voiced their concern about raging war and insecurity, urging that the loss of civilian lives across the country must come to an end.
With a poster reading “Stop the war”, the participants stressed that all people in Afghanistan wanted an immediate ceasefire and durable peace in the country.
Ghulam Rasul Ishaqozi, a resident of Balkh province, expressed his satisfaction towards peace talks in Doha, stating that the negotiations should be conducted honestly and compassionately.
Maliheh Bahrami, another resident of Balkh province, called on the warring parties to break the deadlock and make peace.
Participants in the meeting also called on Pakistan to stop interfering in Afghanistan’s internal affairs and allow the country to achieve peace.
