KABUL: NATO’s Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg says the Taliban must uphold their promises and reduce the unacceptably high violence level.
Quoting a meeting with the US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad, Stoltenberg said they discussed Afghanistan’s situation.
He tweeted: The Doha talks offer the best chance for peace, but the Taliban must keep their promises and reduce the unacceptable level of violence.”
“NATO remains committed to Afghanistan’s security,” he added, reaffirming the alliance commitment to security.
