KABUL: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has expressed staunch support to the Afghan reconciliation process and efforts to achieve stability in the country.
Foreign Ministry in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom, said the Saudi government had followed up on the peace process ongoing between the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Taliban.
The kingdom supports the reconciliation process and everything that reduces violence in Afghanistan, a statement from the ministry states.
“The kingdom was and is still with Afghanistan and the Afghan people to fulfill all of their hopes and aspirations,” it added.
Meanwhile, the Afghan Ambassador in Riyadh Ahmad Jawid Mujadidi expressed his gratitude to KSA for lending weight to the Afghan peace process.
This comes as Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon also hoped that Afghans themselves could establish peace and tranquility and thus determine their country’s future.
