BALKH: Aimed at motivating Afghan citizens to work for peace-building and peacemaking, a street theater was organized in Mazar-i-Sharif city, the provincial capital of northern Balkh province, on Friday.
Titled ‘A Lovely Life with Peace’, the play was arranged by Killid Radio within Rawza Mubarak (Hazrat Ali’s shrine) and attended by many citizens.
Naveed Mehrtash, an actor in the show, said that the goal was to encourage the Afghan citizens to seek and promote peace in their own respective areas.
Mehrtash said the importance and value of achieving peace and stability in the country were portrayed in the theatrical performance, adding that the Afghan masses must be indoctrinated in peace and tranquility.
He believed that peace was one of the basic needs of the Afghan people and thus all structures should promote its importance and value through various methods.
The participants of the street play agreed that people bore responsibility for shaping their common national fate, which was none other than peace.
They stated that the culture of peacemaking and peace-building should be spread among the people of the country so that they mobilize to jointly work for realizing it.
In addition to Mazar-e-Sharif, this program is going to be carried out in other cities as well, including Kabul, Jalalabad, Herat and Kandahar.
