KANDAHAR: A local youth foundation based in southern Kandahar province has asked for speediness in the ongoing peace talks and urged the warring sides to find a permanent solution to the Afghan mire.

Dozens of youth, belonging to Sula and Jirga peace foundation, gathered in Arghandab district for an event on Friday to discuss the ongoing peace efforts.

Participants of the gathering called upon both sides to halt playing in the hands of spoilers, as well as seeking unreasonable pretexts to impede the peace process. “They should realize Afghans’ grand hopes of peace.”

“We won’t stay silent anymore and will continue our drive in this regard,” said the enthusiastic young people.

The youngsters demanded that the peace process should be speeded up and a long-lasting solution found for the Afghan war.
