882 deserving households receive aid in Logar

LOGAR: At least 822 impoverished families received food items and cash assistance in several districts of central Logar province.


United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNCHR) distributed food items and cash to poor and needy families in Mohammad Agha, Baraki Barak, Charkh, and Khuwakhai districts, and Pul-e-Alam city, the provincial capital of the province,


UNHCR provided cash assistance to 372 poor families — $700 per family – in Pul-e-Alam, Charkh, and Mohammad Agha districts, Taliban local authorities confirmed.


In the meantime, cash assistance was provided to 200 flood-affected families in the Muhammad Agha, Khuwakhai, and Charkh districts under the auspices of the International Rescue Committee (IRC). Each family received 12,000 AFN


About 250 flood-affected families in the Khuwakhai district also received food and non-food items, including flour, rice, oil and tea, with the financial support of several charities.


Meanwhile, World Food Program (WFP) provided food and cash assistance to thousands of families last week in Pul-e-Alam, Mohammad Agha, Khuwakhai, Baraki Barak, and Charkh districts of Logar province.
