Don’t come to Bamyan city without Hijab, Taliban warn women


BAMYAN: The Taliban have warned women in Bamyan province not to travel to the provincial capital without observing their prescribed version of Hijab and Burqa.
In a statement on Friday, Taliban also made Friday prayers mandatory for all men, warning of consequences in case of violation. 
According to a shopkeeper in Bamyab city, the Taliban’s announcement required shopkeepers to close their shops during prayers and attend mosques.
Meanwhile, Taliban authorities in Bamyan have set up checkpoints to monitor women’s and girls’ clothing since a week ago.
