KABUL: The Taliban have sealed a branch of the Muslim English language center in the Khairkhana neighborhood of Kabul city due to the absence of female teachers, sources told Afghan Peace Watch (APW).
Taliban cited the absence of female teachers to instruct female students as the reason for closing down the institute on Thursday.
A letter on the institute’s door reads, “Due to lack of female teachers to instruct female students, the relevant authorities have shut this place down.”
Since the Taliban takeover, schools have been closed for Afghan girls above the sixth grade. Pledges were made by the Taliban to reopen them but were of no avail.
