Netherlands vows to donate €20 million to Afghanistan

KABUL: The Netherlands on Tuesday pledged to donate an additional €20 million for Afghanistan to address humanitarian crisis and fight hunger, bringing to €49 million the total amount of its donations to the war-ravaged country since 2016.

United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs announced the funds will be channeled to fund emergency life-saving solutions for most vulnerable Afghans including children living in starvation.
The donation comes at a time as Afghanistan is enduring its biggest humanitarian crisis in history, with 24 million people in need of life-saving assistance and 95 percent of the population living in poverty.
