Khushal Wakily is an international development practitioner and governance researcher/consultant. He has nearly two decades of experience in formulation and management of development projects in governance, post conflict development and public financial management reforms. In 2002, Mr Wakily started working as an Accountant for Care International in Afghanistan. He later joined the European Commission as Programme Administrator, and continued working for a decade with the EU as Project Officer for Economic Cooperation and later on as a Programme Manager for Security Sector Reform in Afghanistan. In 2019, Mr Wakily joined the Afghan Republic as Director of Finance within the Office of National Security Council and served as public servant until the fall of Kabul to Taliban. Over the course of his career, Mr Wakily has worked with the private sector, NGOs, international organizations and public sector bodies in developed, developing and post conflict countries. Mr Wakily has keen interest in the role of technology in provision of governance solutions.
