KABUL: Taliban’s local officials in Ghor province announced that they had distributed aid to 730 needy families across the province during the past week.
The aid included cash, food ingredients, and non-food items. Head of refugees and repatriates in Ghor province Mir Ahmad Musamim said that the relief assistance was donated by aid agencies and was given out to families in need by the local Taliban officials.
Mir Ahmad Musamim expressed concern over the livelihoods of IDPs in the province and urged the international aid agencies to provide the people and those in dire need with further life-saving assistance.
“IDPs live worse lives in Ghor province because the province usually has a freezing and long winter season. Drought and unemployment are other factors that have contributed to the difficulties of these people,” the Taliban’s regime officials added.
