KABUL: Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai met with Jean Arnault, the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy for Afghanistan and Regional Issues, on Saturday to discuss the Afghan peace process and regional cooperation to promote Afghan Peace Process.
Deborah Lyons, the UN Secretary-General’s representative for Afghanistan, was also present during the meeting, according to the Office of the Former President in a statement.
Karzai praised Arnault’s appointment as the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy for Afghanistan and Regional Issues, describing him as a “skilled diplomat” who would contribute to the peace process.
