OIC Secretary-General Reiterates Support for Afghan Peace Process

KABUL: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) secretary-general and Afghan Hajj and religious affairs minister during a meeting on Thursday stressed strengthening relations between the organization and Afghanistan.



The Saudi Gazette stated on Thursday that Yousef Al-Othaimeen, OIC secretary-general and Afghan Hajj and religious affairs minister, Mohammed Qasim Halimi discussed collaboration between the OIC and Afghanistan.



The two sides also talked about latest developments in the peace process in Afghanistan, the news agency said in the report.



Al-Othaimeen reaffirmed the OIC member countries about their commitment to supporting the Afghan people in reaching a peaceful settlement for the conflict in the country.



Mohammed Qasim Halimi praised the OIC’s position and its role in the Afghan peace process, security, stability, and development in Afghanistan.
