KABUL: Senior Advisor to the Afghan President Shahussain Murtazawi condemned Kabul’s recent car bombing attack that targeted a girls school in Dasht Barchi and has asked for the closure of the Taliban’s political office in Qatar and blacklisting the movement’s pro-war commanders.

A girl’s school was attacked in Dasht-e-Barchi area of Kabul on Saturday afternoon, killing at least 30 people, mostly female students between the ages of 11 to 15.
The Interior Ministry stated that 53 civilians – mostly young female students – were killed, and 151 others were wounded in the explosions.
Soon after the blast, the Taliban released a statement denying any involvement in the incident.
“We condemn blasts against civilians in Kabul’s Dasht-e-Barchi neighborhood; sadly, the blasts resulted in too many casualties,” the group said.
Meanwhile, Afghan government officials, including President Ashraf Ghani, blamed the Taliban for the attack.
The international community also strongly condemned the attack by calling it “a crime against humanity.”
A few days back, a similar incident happened in Pol-e-Alam, capital of Logar province that resulted in the killing of 21 civilians & injury of 110 others, with most of them high school students.
No one had claimed responsibility for Logar attack, but the government accused Taliban on involvement in the incident.
