KABUL: Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani during his meeting with political figures on Sunday discussed reaching to a just and enduring peace and strengthening the country’s national and political consensus.
A statement from the Presidential Palace said that President Ghani met with Mohammad Mohaqiq, the leader of the People’s Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan, Azizullah Din Mohammad, a Jihadi figure, Mohammad Ismail Ghazanfar, a national businessman, Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, State Minister in Peace Affairs and some other figures.
The participants of the meeting discussed current situation of the peace process and shared their views on steps to push forward the process.
President Ghani in a video message on the occasion of 29th anniversary of Mujahideen’s victory last Wednesday offered the Taliban with power sharing and said that no one would be able to impose their own goals on people by violence.
This comes as intra-Afghan talks faced deadlock and the Taliban said they would not attend any negotiations on Afghanistan until all foreign forces leave the country.
