US, Taliban Should Compromise For Prevention of Escalation: Kabulov

KABUL: As the deadline for US troop withdrawal from Afghanistan ended on Saturday, Russia’s special envoy for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov called for a compromise between the US and the Taliban. 
Kabulov said on the Russian TV channel, RBK said that the US must find a compromise to prevent the Taliban from resuming large-scale hostilities.  
However, he stated that reaching a compromise will be difficult due to moral and psychological issues. However, he did not provide details on the regard.
Kabulov also called for an inclusive Afghan government and emphasized the importance of anti-terrorism and anti-narcotics efforts. 
“We need to establish a natural, inclusive government in Afghanistan that is capable of dealing with these tasks on its soil,” he said.
Meanwhile, he assured that Moscow will do everything possible to ensure that peaceful intra-Afghan talks take place, including cooperating with the US. 
As part of Washington’s agreement with the Taliban, US troops were scheduled to leave Afghanistan by May 1st. The date has been rescheduled for September 11th.
