Balkh Marchers Urge Agreement on Peace, Declare Support for Republic

BALKH: A number of youths in a rally in Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of Balkh province, on Saturday called for agreement on a lasting peace and stability in the country between warring sides and asked for immediate stop to the ongoing violence. 
The rally which was started from Ferdowsi Square to Mubarak Shrine in Mazar-i-Sharif chanted slognas “We want peace” and “We support the republic and the Afghan security forces.”
Mohammad Etemadi, the organizer of the march, says that the program aimed for uniting youths to advocate for lasting peace and stability in the country.
Etemadi emphasized that the people were tired of war and bloodshed in the country and they hoped for the Afghan peace talks for a fruitful outcome.
The rally asked the conflict sides to stop violence and agree on a ceasefire before reaching to a possible peace agreement.
