KABUL: German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas in a meeting with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and High Council of National Reconciliation (HCNR) chairman, Abdullah Abdullah in Kabul assured that his country will stand with Afghan people and “shall continue its support in different fields including to the ANDSF.”
A statement from HCNR office quoted Heiko as saying, “Even the Taliban know this wounded country is in massive need of international aid. This will most certainly end if the Taliban reverses what has been achieved in #Afghanistan in terms of human rights and democratic standards.”
In Afghanistan, much has been accomplished, from improving life expectancy to addressing the problem of girls being allowed to attend school, he said.  “This is also the product of the German government’s involvement, which has increased stability. That is something I want to thank the servicemen and women for,” he Heiko added.
