Kabul: Afghan Foreign Minister Mohammad Haneef Atmar on Monday discussed bilateral ties and the upcoming Turkey Summit on Afghan peace with the Chinese envoy to Kabul, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The statement said that Atmar thanked for the China’s continued cooperation in various fields including the peace process with Afghanistan and emphasized on strengthening relations between the two countries.
The foreign minister said that China has played an important role in the creation of a regional consensus for advancing the Afghan peace process.
On his part, Chinese Ambassador Wang Yu assured that his country would fully support the ongoing Afghan peace process, the statement said.
The two sides also spoke about the agenda of the Turkey Summit on Afghan peace and a fruitful outcome of the grand gathering.
