BALKH: Social and civil institutions of Badakhshan province, in a gathering on Saturday, urged the Afghan parties into conflict to declare a truce at once.
A conference entitled “Support to Peace and Preservation of the Government’s Achievements” was attended by a number of religious scholars, civil society activists, officials of women’s rights organizations, as well as residents of Badakhshan province.
Announcing support to the peace talks in Doha, the participants asked the negotiating sides to reach and agree on a permanent ceasefire.
They lamented the suspension of peace talks, stressing it had been months, but the fate of Afghan peace talks was still unclear.
Badakshan inhabitants called on the negotiating sides to reach a fruitful conclusion, stating that they supported the intra-Afghan as long as the people’s achievements were preserved.
